AASHTO Council on Rail Transportation (CORT) 2023 Winter Meeting Recap

From January 31 through February 3, AASHTO’s Council on Rail Transportation (CORT) held its annual meeting in Washington, D.C., bringing together state rail officials and key stakeholders from the rail industry, Congress, and partner organizations to address policy, regulatory, safety, operations, and investment issues in the development of a national freight and passenger rail system. The agenda for the meeting was focused on the implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the progress of passenger and freight rail developments. The meeting provided a platform for states to learn about and discuss the most pressing issues impacting the advancement of a resilient passenger and freight rail system at both the regional and national levels.
