A Partnership to Improve Transportation Everywhere: AASHTO, FHWA and PIARC

Founded in 1909, at the dawn of the automotive age, PIARC is an international transportation association with connections around the world. In Jan. 2020 PIARC’s U.S. affiliates, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and the Federal Highway Administration kicked of the 2020-to-2023 work cycle. As you’ll see in this AASHTO Transportation TV feature –it is during this period that subject-matter experts from all three organizations will serve on PIARC’s Technical Committee. This international collaboration gives agencies a platform to discover and share innovative ways to design, build, operate and maintain transportation infrastructure projects– eliminating the need to reinvent the wheel. In this video you’ll hear from experts in the areas of safety, highway construction, engineering, and freight about the professional and personal rewards they’ve gained by participating in PIARC.
