AASHTO Journal Video: Volcano Update – Hawaii

The Kilauea volcano, on the “big island” of Hawaii, has been erupting for more than 30 days, spewing a river of lava that has swallowed hundreds of properties and damaged or destroyed miles of roadway. The Hawaii Department of Transportation is closely monitoring the situation—reacting to Kilauea’s every move. Hawaii DOT Deputy Director Ed Sniffen just visited the big island to assess the situation first-hand.
