PSA for the 2018 National Work Zone Awareness Week Campaign: April 9-13

Every spring National Work Zone Awareness Week events are held across the country to persuade drivers to slow down and pay attention to highway work zones. Thousands of highway workers are now on the job—building, repairing or replacing the nation’s aging highways, bridges, tunnels, and interchanges. It’s dangerous work because according to the FHWA there were 683 fatal work zone crashes in 2016. The data shows that 190 of those crashes involved speeding. This year’s slogan: “Work Zone Safety: Everybody’s Responsibility.” The public is encouraged to watch this PSA and share the link.
