Dom Pannone and Katherine Keith of the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities received the President’s Transportation Award for their leadership in modernizing the state’s transportation planning and project delivery systems. They guided a department wide effort that produced three key tools, including the Project Delivery Plan, an updated Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, and a restructured Tentative Advertising Schedule. Working together, Katherine’s strength in change management and collaboration and Dom’s expertise in finance and technology helped streamline operations, improve public access to project information, and bring real time visibility to data across a large and remote state. Their work supports stronger community trust, a more competitive construction environment, and a model that other agencies can follow.
