Amanda Austin of the Texas Department of Transportation received the President’s Transportation Award for her leadership in advancing intersection safety across the state. With more than ten years of experience, she joined TxDOT’s Design Division in 2023 and quickly launched the Roundabout and Alternative Intersection Design program. In 2025, she helped deliver new instructor led training courses statewide and supported the rollout of TxDOT’s updated Intersection Control Evaluation process in partnership with FHWA. Amanda also traveled across the state to engage district offices, promote innovative intersection solutions, and strengthen safety initiatives with local leaders. Her dedication and forward looking approach continue to shape a safer future for communities throughout Texas.
