At a knowledge session sponsored by Amazon at the 2021 AASHTO Annual Meeting, Jeremy Hunter, Chief Engineer at the Indiana Department of Transportation, shared his agency’s best practices to reduce work zone-related crashes and deaths. In the video, Hunter explains a new concept called “adaptable work zones,” which was developed by a task force established to improve work zone safety. The session titled Safety Strategies to Reduce Fatalities—from Targeted to Holistic –was held on October 28, 2021, at the AASHTO Annual Meeting in San Diego.
